| WTJU, one of the two radio stations at the University of Virginia, has ON WITH THE SHOW every Friday evening from 6p-8p. Proud to say that this wonderful public radio station has been featuring a Broadway hour or two for decades. From 1980-82, one of my best friends and I hosted the Breakfast on Broadway show every Saturday morning... many of the other DJs rolled their eyes at us....until pledge drives, when our show raised more than nearly every other show on the schedule. We built every week around a theme that allowed us to pull from Broadway hits as well as flops (and we played plenty of those). When we go back for Reunions the station allows us to do the show again ("Reunion" themed naturally) and each time I find some new old stuff that I love (still in my head from the last Reunion show we did: "I Don't Remember You" from THE HAPPY TIME). |
