I didn't find it "as" horrible as all of you, but I went back and forth from thinking they were doing OK to they were doing terrible.
It was interesting to immediately see who were trained theater people and who were exhausted from an energetic number.
I agree about the camera work and the off putting swirling camera movement and the screaming audience.
I am not sure if I didn't know the show if I would have had any idea of what was going on...
Brandon Victor's song at Angel's Memorial service was the lone stand out for me.
I also thought the guy playing the Anthony Rapp role was better than Rapp except when he got overly emotional in the second half.
Vanessa Hudgens. Oh no girl.
I never thought I would see Seasons of Love ruined - but the original was so iconic having the cast downstage in a line that the staging on the stairs without the principals just blew it for me.
I watched live with commercials just for the promise of the OBC - I thought it was gracious to invite the OBC. - where were Kristen Lee Kelly and Gwen Stewart? Since they went with some older actors - Kelly would actually have been the right age to reprise the Mark's Mom role! |
