Rent did not do well in the ratings. It posted either a 1.3 or 1.4 rating in the advertiser-desired 18-49 demo (I've seen different numbers, one might be preliminary and one might be final, but I don't know which one is which), with 3.42 million total viewers. This is the lowest rating since The Sound of Music revitalized live TV musicals in 2013. The previous low was 1.5 and 4.52 million total viewers for A Christmas Story Live.
I wonder what the ratings were like over the course of the night. I wonder if a lot of people changed the channel after it was clear it was not going to be live. That was an idiotic decision to have 0% live content until the last 15 minutes. |
