"Posterity is Just Around the Corner" and "Who Cares?" from "Of Thee I Sing"
Aside from the pun in the title, "Posterity Is Just Around The Corner" isn't a political song at all. It's merely a celebration of Wintergreen becoming a father-to-be. (In that odd 1952 revival, I guess assuming audiences might not get the pun in the title anymore, the song's lyrics were overhauled and the song retitled "The President Is Going To Be A Daddy.")
But, we can certainly include the Senator's roll call ("The Senator From Minnesota"), the Act II opener "Good Morning, Good Day," and the title song, which is used as Wintergreen's campaign song. |
