I liked that scene where she wakes him up, and I thought it was well-done. I didn't love the repeated talks among the family about what to do, which seemed dramatically repetitive to me. I didn't get a large sense of increasing frustration/exasperation. To me, Joan Allen seemed frustrated/exasperated at the beginning, and only mildly more so at the end.
I wonder if there's a practical reason why the montages were so long. I was sitting very close and could see that the set pieces descended from the ceiling, which seems like something that could happen fairly quickly. |
