I guess it depends on your definition of "excellent" vs "incredible." We are fortunate that we can see excellent performances on different stages in New York and elsewhere every year. I thought May gave an excellent award-worthy performance, but I can think of several others I've seen this year that were just as excellent.
I would be the first to say that I may have had too high expectations based on others' comments. It's hard to live up to the kind of praise she has gotten on this board and elsewhere. If I had seen the show in its first weeks, I might have felt differently. |
