The actor playing Frank isn't particularly charismatic, doesn't add much shading to the character, and can't quite put over the requirements of the score. During the performance I was confused as to why they'd cast the actor in the this role and essentially build a production around him but after I noticed he's the artistic director of Fiasco so I guess that explains that.
I think a well-sung, well-acted stripped down production might be successful but this production isn't that production. I liked the edits, the additions, and the set.
