Price is always going to be a factor now...gone are the days when Broadway was popular entertainment for the masses at a box office price the average person could afford.

I wonder if it's possible for producers and the unions to hammer out some sort of contract where costs are significantly lower for smaller shows, with the requirement that ticket prices are also significantly lower. It would take a lot of work, because, for a start, who gets to decide what productions would use this contract, but there has got to be an answer somewhere to spiraling ticket prices that could allow potential audiences to afford to take a chance on a production they might otherwise not.
