Not only an impeccably composed narrative of the story of Lerner’s and Hart’s hospitalizations, the “Before I Gaze at You” saga, the Ed Sullivan and re-rehearsing resurrection of the piece, a couple of live performances of Guenevere’s solos by the talented Shana Farr, and perfectly timed slides and delightful film clips (including a Burton-Andrews “Camelot” I’d never seen), but so much love for the material and numerous painstaking slide-projections of those magnificent lyrics.
An absolute joy. Musical Theatre Historian CHARLES TROY was absolute magic. |
