| Not to take anything away from Margaret Hamilton or anyone else who has played the role, but has there ever been a Mme. Armfeldt who indulged in sentimentality? I think the characters is carefully written to avoid that, although I guess there is that ONE line that could be delivered to stress the sentimentality, or note: "And now, who knows, he might have been the love of my life." (That may be a slight paraphrase.) |
