| I thought Bryce Pinkham was funny. And Kate Baldwin got the most out of her dialogue with her excellent comic timing. I agree about the music. There was too much of it, for one thing, and the songs were not distinctive. I also thought the young man playing the lead was in over his head. His bio says he’s making his professional debut and it showed to me. I don’t think he is adept enough yet to carry his big solo numbers. And while I realize he’s playing a somewhat sullen, angst-ridden teen, I feel like he is not naturally charming enough to be a young leading man, either. |
