Of course, the entire "Loveland" sequence is the evolution of the structure of FOLLIES to move, or at least incorporate,realism, impressionism, expressionism, surrealism, and finally back to realism. I think there are certainly elements of minstrelsy in the choreography of "Lucy and Jessie". Elements of the language are certainly there. Minstrelsy is a significant element of American theatrical history, is it not.?
