Among the remembrances, Bernadette Peters reminisces about working with him in ''Annie,'' when he played Daddy Warbucks.

Did anyone get to catch his two Tony-nominated turns on Broadway: ''Luther'' (1963) and ''A Day in the Death of Joe Egg'' (1968)?

As for other movie performances, Finney was the perfect Poirot in ''Murder on the Orient Express'' (1974).

What a shame the Academy never gave him an honorary Oscar for lifetime achievement, but luckily his celluloid legacy lives on.
