Not having seen the show, I cannot comment on the accuracy of this review. However I do agree that Jessie Mueller and Rosie O'Donnell would appear to be ideal casting. Norm Lewis seems less so but Marks makes a very strong case for his slightly different approach to the role (and having survived Robert Sean Leonard's performance in the last Broadway revival I could survive this.) I hope the success of this leads some producer to consider mounting a full revival or perhaps NBC will try again with a live musical broadcast of an old classic. They would definitely need a bigger star than Lewis to assure high ratings (Hugh Jackman?) but I hope they would keep Mueller and especially O'Donnell.
