I, too, saw the Boston tryout, way back when, and my mother and I loved it. I remember being surprised/disappointed when its
life on Broadway was so short. I had always hoped someone would revive it, and then I got to see the Goodspeed production
last summer. My memory is not as strong as many ATC'ers, so I couldn't recall all the changes. However, I did like the Goodspeed
show.
Sidebar 1: I had the opportunity to speak briefly with Stephen Schwartz during a post-show reception at the A.R.T. and he seemed
committed to continuing to work on it.
Sidebar 2: I saw Judy Kuhn, who I also adore, doing one of those singing interviews with Seth Rudetsky and she mentioned that
she met her now-husband during the Boston run. |
