Also - I think the heavily rhythmic, pop/ hip hop nature of the music might not lend itself to the setting of a “piano only” accompaniment in an audition room.
This is actually something to consider with standard rock songs as well. Obviously, piano-driven songs will be fine, and generally, guitar-driven songs can usually be made to work on piano, but songs that rely principally on a percussion beat won't always translate well. It's always a good idea to work on rock material with a coach or accompanist beforehand, so you know what it will actually sound like. |
