THE WHO'S TOMMY, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOU, THE GOODBYE GIRL, KISMET.
We saw their MINNIE'S BOYS tonight. The nice part was that composer Larry Grossman, now 80, was not only in attendance, but was involved with the production from auditions on.
The bad part was the libretto. I don't think the real brothers could have saved it. The biggest laugh came when the young man playing Groucho flubbed a joke, waited a beat, then quipped, "It's funnier when I mess them up."
And we're huge Marx Brothers fans here; my husband even stuck them in a time travel story, changing Texas history. I'm glad for the chance to see it, but still disappointed.
