We saw her yesterday, and she was magnificent. There’s so much more comedy. Her acting is extraordinary. The singing seemed effortless, with no straining. This production makes the “ows” and “garns” less throat-damaging, so hopefully Laura isn’t hurting herself like previous Elizas. But of course there’s no protecting against toddler germs.
Danny Burstein looks like he’s having a blast, and it’s contagious. Rosemary Harris made me tear up. A privilege to watch her work.
A special shoutout to Linda Mugleston, who’s found tremendous humor and warmth in Mrs. Pearce.
None of my business, but I hope Laura got a big raise! (I assume the delayed announcement was due to negotiations).
