I've always felt that movie was almost ruined by horrendous direction and bad choices on what to cut and what to retain, but I guess it has enough good moments that it would be worth seeing at least once in a beautifully restored version. For example, the great Jacques d'Amboise in the Louise ballet, which I believe is the only choreography in the film that represents Agnes de Mille's original choreography for the stage version.

the choreography was so close to her original, that she sued R&H and was awarded damages(I think).
