| Legal issues held up the cast recording . His health took him out of the show prematurely. |

| I remember him in his cabaret act holding up a mock CD of the Grand Hotel OCR and singing "Grand Hotel, Grand Hotel, music constantly playing" then speaking, "But not in your house." :-) He then went on and beautifully sang "Love Can't Happen." Which I think turned up as a bonus track when the CD was released. And I must mention he was one of the three spectacular Broadway leads in Chess (the other two being Judy Kuhn and Phillip Casnoff). The show may not have been that great, but that score sung by those three---pretty wonderful. |

| Just searched for clips of him on the net, & read in his TIMES obituary that he collapsed and died of a pulmonary embolism in the studio where he was recording the GRAND HOTEL album. So sad... | |

| I had a friend in the company, and saw it with both Gary Morris and Carroll. Both men were good, but Carroll was just sublime. Major, major talent. | |
