| I dreamed last night . I was attending the new KISS ME KATE(I've got tix for March). The show had been updated to 1962, an JFK look alike was an extra, they used old Cole Porter songs for cigarette commercials, By intermission there had been only one song from the original show, There was a line saying 'we wont be doing the songs like this'(Chorus people appeared lying across the seats in shrouds- in other words it wont be a mummified version of a older production.) There was also confusion when, after intermission, most of us wandered into the high school cafeteria that had been added to Studio 54.............It's possible that this dream is a warning that I should give up 'posting' for Lent; But in the Light of Day I'm still very much looking forward to KATE. |
