| Was David Burns added to the show for Broadway? I'm trying to find out if he was in the out of town tryout but I can't find any reference to this online. | |

| Burns replaced Nathaniel Frey. Tryouts were in Detroit, starting October 19, 1952, the night Bette Davis fainted on stage. She went on with the show and allegedly quipped, "You can't say I didn't fall for you." | |

| David Burns replaced Nathaniel Frey during the tryout, and additional material was added for him. I wouldn't necessarily say he was added to the show for Broadway as he joined the cast during the tryout, but, yes, he was a late addition to the cast. | |
