Azudi Onyejekwe(The Great Comet, Violet) will join Doreen Taylor (Christine Daaein The Phantom of the Opera; Candide; Billboard Top 100 Recording Artist) in Sincerely, Oscar (www.SincerelyOscar.com) a new musical celebrating Broadway's greatest lyricist, Oscar Hammerstein, with book by Ms. Taylor and directed by Dugg McDonough (artistic director, LSU Opera; four seasons as staff stage director for the New York City Opera).

Sincerely, Oscar will play Theatre Row - Acorn Theatre (410 W. 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues) in a limited engagement, beginning March 27 with opening night set for April 4. Sincerely, Oscar is produced by David Pedemonti.

Sincerely, Oscar is a new musical highlighting Oscar Hammerstein's journey to become Broadway's greatest lyricist. The musical explores Oscar's life in his words while showcasing over 30 of his greatest songs from shows like The Sound of Music, Show Boat, Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, Allegro and more. Working closely with Oscar Hammerstein's grandson Will, the musical incorporates personal correspondence, unpublished lyrics, interviews and rare memoirs to give insight into Hammerstein's legacy.

Sincerely, Oscar utilizes state-of-the-art 3D holographic technology called IceMagic, with its imagery often referred to as a hologram. The visual effect is created through a specialized projection system and it is the first time this holographic technology will be implemented on the Off Broadway stage.

Sincerely, Oscar features scenic design by Jason Simms (Witness for the Prosecution; Hamlet), lighting design by David Pedemonti (signage and structures on The Lyric Theatre for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), costume design by Dawna Oak (Disney on Ice; Ringling Brothers), sound design by Robert Balan ("Made In Chinatown"), and projection design by Brittany Merenda (Shrek The Musical). Lou Lanza (Opening Doors: A Jazz Tribute to the Doors, Corner Pocket) is the musical director and arranger and Joshua Godoy (Black Days; Golden State Pops Orchestra) did the string arrangements. Sincerely, Oscar is general managed by Brierpatch Productions. Additional Casting is by Pat McCorkle, CSA & Katja Zarolinski, CSA, McCorkle Casting Ltd.

Doreen Taylor (Performer/book writer).
Applauded by the Huffington Post as "An excellent performing artist to keep your eyes on", Doreen Taylor is an award winning singer-songwriter who charted on Billboard's Hot 100 (in the top 50) and reached #31 on the Adult Contemporary Chart with her mainstream 2016 hit, "TOY". With two degrees in voice and opera performance, Taylor has played leading roles in various musical theater and operatic productions across the country; including the Philadelphia Scottish Opera premiere as Cunegonde in Candide where she received rave reviews and was equally lauded in her portrayal of Abigail Williams in Robert Ward's The Crucible and Birdie in the Marc Blitzstein's opera "Regina" at the Des Moines Metro Opera Company. Doreen played the lead role of Christine Daaé opposite Davis Gaines in The Phantom of the Opera and was a featured performer for the "You Gotta Have Heart" benefit concert honoring the legendary producer George Abbott. She has been a special guest artist with the Golden State Pops Orchestra and was hand selected by Marvin Hamlisch to perform with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. Doreen most recently starred in the limited engagement documusical, An Enchanted Evening: A Night With Oscar Hammerstein opposite Davis Gaines at the 777 Theatre in December 2017.

Dugg McDonough (Director).
Veteran stage director Dugg McDonough has directed musicals, operas, and operettas for companies ranging from the New York City Opera to the Taipei International Arts Festival. His numerous successes have included Sweeney Todd, Little Women, The Medium, La cenerentola, and Out of Darkness (world workshop premiere) for Pensacola Opera; Susannah, Dialogues of the Carmelites, La rondine, Elektra, and The Tragedy of Carmen for Des Moines Metro Opera; Madama Butterfly and Amahl and the Night Visitors for Opéra Louisiane; Turandot and Madama Butterfly for the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra; Le nozze di Figaro and Così fan tutte for Land of Enchantment Opera; The Face on the Barroom Floor for Rose Rock Opera Institute; and Oklahoma! and Annie Get Your Gun for Theatre West Virginia. McDonough has also worked and directed for such companies as The Santa Fe Opera, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, New Orleans Opera Association, New York Grand Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Sarasota Opera, Opera Delaware, Knoxville Opera, Chattanooga Opera, San Antonio Symphony, and the Center for Contemporary Opera in New York. Lou Lanza (Musical Director/Arranger).
Named the "top male jazz vocalist of 2004" in the reader's poll of Rio de Janeiro's Tribuna da Imprensa for the album Opening Doors, Lou Lanza is considered to be among the top 500 jazz vocalists of all time by noted jazz critic, historian, and author Scott Yanow ('The Jazz Singers'). Lou penned the lyrics and libretto of the original jazz opera, The Real Book of Gig which received critical acclaim and he most recently was the musical director of the 2018 off-Broadway production of An Enchanted Evening: A Night with Oscar Hammerstein. Lou has been a member of the music faculty at Temple University, Moravian College, and is currently teaching at DeSales University for musical theatre vocal studies.
