I was surprised to discover that the company that was started by the son of Mrs. Anna in Thailand is still a big player today. From the company's ABOUT US page,
"The Legacy
In 1862, Louis T. Leonowens arrived in Bangkok at age of 7 with his mother, Anna Harriette Leonowens who was hired to teach English to the children of King Rama lV. She would later pen the fictionalized Anna and the King of Siam, which became world famous.
Raised alongside the royal children, Louis would eventually complete his education in Europe and return to Siam in 1881 and be commissioned as a Captain in the Royal Calvary by King Rama V. He began his business venture with the Borneo. Company to pioneer teak logging until he founded his own venture in 1889.
By 1905, Louis consolidated his business interests and incorporated Louis Thomas Leonowens Company Limited. In addition to the teak concessions, the company represented leading manufacturers of cement, champagne, whisky, typewriters, engineering products and several assurance/insurance companies.
Louis eventually left Siam for the UK in 1913 and remained there until his death in 1919."

If I remember correctly the people of Thailand and in particular the King's descendants did not appreciate Anna Leonowens' fictionalized account of her time in Bangkok (which was actually called "The English Governess and the Siamese Court". "Anna and the King of Siam" was written decades later by Margaret Landon.)That might explain why the company's founder's bio does not go into too much detail. Nice to see that Louis made something of himself and has a legacy beyond the way he is portrayed in THE KING AND I.
