I've always loved ''Storybook'' from Wildhorn and Knighton's glorious score to ''The Scarlet Pimpernel,'' and I first heard Tom Andersen sing it.

Tom says many years ago, he wrote to Wildhorn, soliciting new material for his cabaret act, and Wildhorn suggested ''Storybook.'' This would've been in the early-'90s - years before ''The Scarlet Pimpernel'' opened on Broadway. It became such a signature song for Tom that other singers, like David Campbell, started to sing it in NYC, too. Knighton was blown away when she saw Tom perform it at Eighty Eight's. Asked if she might supply a quote for his press kit, Knighton penned a full-page essay about why everyone needed to hear Tom sing ''Storybook.'' That was so generous & classy!
