Directors get a minimum of 2% of adjusted Gross Box office, choreographers 1.5%. When a royalty pool (royalties based on net weekly operating profits) they receive a bit less weekly thru a complex formula. So if you direct a musical that grosses $1 million a week, you will earn royalties of around $15-20,000 a week, minimum.

There is not usually any profit participation.

If you directed WICKED, that grosses $6-8 million a week between tours and foreign productions, the math is pretty simple - a minimum of $120-160,000 a week. A pretty good deal.

Assistants and associates do not get a royalty or profit participation.
