| I agree, deeply. This is a wondrous production and Skybell was a revelation. I'm not sure I am ready to proclaim who might be the 'best' Tevye, but Skybell is the most realistic, most grounded one I have ever seen, which makes his musings about the shakiness of the Fiddler on the rooftop even more poignant...and pointed. Loved everything about this and hope that people of all ethnicities try to see it. I have seen FIDDLER staged a number of different ways-- on Broadway, on tour, in regionals, at high schools and colleges. But I didn't really 'get' it til this production. First time that I found it thrilling. |
