| Pretty Woman has done far better at the box office than The Prom. It's fallen off some during the winter doldrums, but still has a respectable average per ticket and it did very well in the fall. | |

| I thought pretty woman dropped off earlier, but it was early January that it dropped below $1m. I expect it will get some tony nominations | |

| "Pretty Woman has done far better at the box office than The Prom." And that, in my opinion, is a tremendously sad and unfortunate comment on the theater today, specifically what prompts people to buy tickets to some shows and not others. |

| And then there was "Groundhog Day," in which Karl gave a career high performance, and was based on a beloved film, and still nobody came. And it has lovable score by Minchin, not to be sneezed at. | |

| I found PRETTY WOMAN repetitive, MEAN GIRLS mildly interesting, and liked THE PROM much more, but I don't expect it to get regular replays on my CD player or in the car. Not like DROWSY CHAPERONE, which still cracks me up. Laura |

| And the score isn’t nearly as good as drowsy. The show was fun but forgettable which is my guess as to why it isn’t doing that well | |

| I really love the score for The Prom - couldn't want for the cast album (and currently can't stop listening to it) and while I very much enjoyed seeing Drowsy on Broadway, I felt a lot of the songs were forgettable. To each his own. | |

| I like the score to The Prom and loved the show. I’m not sure why it’s not doing better but maybe there are some conservative tourists who just wont see the show which is much better than Mean Girls though they share a high school setting. I still haven’t seen Pretty Woman, mainly because I don’t like any song I’ve heard from the score. |
