Once the show opens it is the producer and director's job to make sure any cast member(s) going into the show are fully audience ready. There's no telling if having more time in the role or less is better for the audience that night - sometimes someone gets stale or lazy quickly or over time and early in their run with less performances under their belt in the role is the best time to see them, sometimes it's the opposite. That's the risk we all take.

But beyond that, previews are not usually discounted for any broadway show. If the show is a hit they may RAISE the prices after opening, but it's not like they offer a reduced preview rate - even though they ONE HUNDRED PERCENT should. It's one of the scams of the preview period that audiences are seeing dress rehearsals (when both the show/text and production/staging/design aren't even frozen as what the show will be) at the prices of an open and frozen show.
