DADDY Tonight

A triumph of tedium and self importance. Somewhere in this dramaturgical muddle there are persons who have suffered racial and sexualized trauma and who strive to move beyond these experiences. But the author's voice is so loudly callow that their stories are just notional, an excuse for academic preening. This meandering, shapeless play is almost entirely lifeless; nothing about it convinces. Even as it strains to be provocative at every turn, it's exhaustingly banal. Truly an endurance test.
