| Excellent casting. All principals well-suited to their demanding roles. Script very faithful to the book, even with the framing device added on [ Humbert talking to a psychiatrist]. The show is like walking a tightrope. The audience has to stop from focusing on what a monster Humbert is, or disgust would be overwhelming. Lead playing Humbert [Robert Sella] deserves a lot of credit for managing to exude vulnerability and pathos, much like Peter Lorre in "M." None of the songs achieves the slendor of "On The Street Where You Live," but still, worth seeing. | |

| Funny that you mention "On The Street Where You Live." Robert Sella is still the best Freddy I've ever seen, having played it in the 1990's revival with Richard Chamberlain and Melissa Errico. | |

| I recall Sella being quite effective playing a Liza Minnelli impersonator in a Law & Order episode many years ago. | |

| Is Charlotte's wild paean to the restaurant still intact? That Loudon stopped the show with (well, to a point)? The earwig that I recall is "How Far Is It to the Next Town," dominating act two, which I assume remains, as it ties the action together. |

| "How far to the next town" reminded me of that long song in "Camelot" that begins with " So they found Guinevere...." The song begins," it is taken up by the chorus. Then it stops. The story advances a little bit. Then it starts up again. This repeats. By the third time, the audience is bobbing up and down, humming along. Total ear worm! | |
