Yes, another god – a Deus Ex Machina plot device where a seemingly unsolvable problem is suddenly and abruptly resolved by an unexpected and seemingly unlikely occurrence. In my mind, this still leaves unanswered questions.
Thanks, Theatre-Goer...so you don't think it was a specific god? WIth my patchy memory of mythology, I thought it could be Hera, who certainly had no love lost for Dionysus. But I wasn't sure if there was a specific reference to her that I missed.
