Could 1600 Pa Ave Be Revived?
Posted by: caps17 05:27 pm EST 02/25/19

At an orchestral concert on Saturday at George Mason University outside DC, I heard an interesting symphonic suite of music from this show plus a vocal rendition of the beautiful "Take Care of this House." I did some research on the challenges this show faced when it opened out of town in DC and of the edits/cuts subsequently made that were not approved by the artistic team. I also discovered that Indiana U. presented a version at the Kennedy Center that used the pre-cut script. This performance received some encouraging notices. Could this show be revived? Would the estates allow an authorized revised version? Listening to this 100th birthday celebration of Bernstein made it clear the genius of this man. I am sure this has been debated before, but a search shows no results.

Now directed as dark as possible by Fosse's ghost. The female ensemble all have long, straggly hair a la Melania, Ivanka and Huckabee Sanders. The set consists of dollar signs and Playboy covers.
