Jill Clayburgh was not in the original Boom Boom Room. She said in interviews that she very much wanted the part, and when she didn't get it, she went to Hollywood, partly (or wholly) out of disappointment at not having gotten the role.
The play started at the Beaumont. It did not move from Off-Broadway. Not long after the troubled Beaumont-NYSF production, Papp produced a revised revival at the Public. |
