Thank you for the correction, AlanScott. Now where did I get the idea that Dr. Bruckner had a wife who is mentioned, but not seen? Is that from the movie? I still think the show only needs for the doctor and Daisy to be together, not apart, at the end, in order to "work" for a large audience. I think that could be accommodated without new songs, though it would require some new dialogue and perhaps some new business for Daisy, in which she (unwittingly) allows the doctor to see that Melinda is not some stranger buried within her, like a prisoner in a dungeon, but that she is Daisy and Daisy is she. As he sings to Daisy in the title song, "You'll be impressed with you." Now all that is lacking in the show is for the doctor to be impressed with her too!
