What is the deal with Fleabag? $300 tix!
Posted by: Michaels 08:47 am EST 03/01/19

I'd never heard of Fleabag and didnt know what to think when a friend suggested I see it. I did not see an ad for the show (now at the Soho Playhouse) and checked for tickets. I was stunned to see virtually all seats were sold and that few remaining tix had a top price of $200 (now $300). They list a $49 and $75 price but none are available. Apparently this is great interest in the show based on a Uk television series. Pheobe Waller-Bridge is the star of the one person show and there was a feature on her in the Times. How did they sell all their tix without an ad and seemingly no problem selling the tix at record breaking prices ($300 for an off off Broadway show?)

I have a $49 seat which is in the last row of the theater for a performance in April. I think they are offering cheap seats upfront, maybe through a lottery.

I bought $75 tix the day they went on sale in November. The transfer was covered in the NYT, Playbill, etc. at the time... and in addition to the popularity of the TV adaptation, Phoebe Waller-Bridge had US name recognition from Killing Eve. I'm not surprised it sold out in a hurry.

I also bought tickets the day they went on sale.

There’s are plenty of us who are fans of her UK series Crashing, which is available on Amazon, as well as Fleabag, the series. She’s an amazing talent and I can’t wait to see her show.

I just looked for it, the only Crashing available on Amazon is the HBO series. Phoebe Waller-Bridge's Crashing is on Netflix...And I'm already many episodes behind on the HBO one...

Crashing is on Netflix, not Amazon. It’s a UK show, and definitely not the HBO series with Pete Holmes.
