| For sixth row stalls on the aisle. I remember being on the cusp of buying a ticket to Hamilton when they went on sale at The Public and when I saw they were $125 I thought, "Meh! Who knows if it'll be any good? I'll wait." Of course by the time I'd finished the first paragraph of Brantley's review the entire run was sold out. Waiting five hours on a lovely Easter Sunday morning I snagged a return for $125 (plus a gift of a Cadbury Easter Creme Egg from Lin-Manuel Miranda himself). It does pay to keep up. |

| Although the downside is that you have to kiss a lot of frogs, metaphorically speaking, to wind up with the next Lin-Manuel Miranda. Recently, I scored cheap tickets to Superhero at 2nd Stage, Alice by Heart at MCC, and My Very Own British Invasion at Paper Mill before previews started. All three proved disappointing. But I'll keep trying for the next Fun Home and Hamilton! I did get relatively affordable tickets for Lehman Trilogy too, although that wasn't a risk because it played in London and a friend saw it there. |
