| It has grossed more than $71 million over the last 51 weeks. Even if we figure its weekly running cost at $700,000, it should be on the verge of recoupment. Thoughts? | |

| I've never understood why shows publicize their recoupment. It's the quality of the show they should advertise. | |

| It seems like the same kind of mentality that leads to putting out press releases when shows break house records for gross. We all know that's just a result of higher ticket prices. | |

| Not really, because the costs have gone up, too. And it's a view of the business side, which some people are interested in. But also a big marketing tool |

| At least three reasons off the top of my head: 1. The publicity sells the producer as someone who can make you money. Kinda like an investment adviser or hedge fund does. 2. The publicity conveys to some parts of the potential audience that others thought this was a show worth seeing. It's a metric of word of mouth. 3. Advertising quality assumes you have some to advertise. |
