The National Theatre of Great Britain’s production was as dazzling as what I saw on Broadway in 1994. I vividly remembered the physical production and it was a thrill to revisit it.
While all of the performances are superb in this production, I couldn't shake the memory of Jane Addams and Rosemary Harris in the 1994 production. The stand out in this production for me was Liam Brennan as Inspector Goole.
The most significant change from my 1994 viewing is how this piece resonates in the era of Trump and social media. It's truly frightening. |
