Her Husband Did the Unthinkable. This Is a Play About Everything After.
Posted by: Mike 07:55 am EST 03/06/19

“I should let you know I am not O.K.,” said the actress Maddie Corman, 49. She was in gray jeans and a T-shirt, barefoot in a small studio on the first day of rehearsal for the play she has written and will star in, “Accidentally Brave.” “This is not one of those shows where I’m here to tell you that I was O.K., and then I wasn’t O.K., but now I am.”

I saw an earlier version of this play and found it hilarious and moving. Can't wait to see the final product!

I think I get who her husband is. THE GREAT WHITE HOPE’s star and director were his parents, right? ; and he worked on or produced or directed LAW AND ORDER. Quite a pedigree. But who is or was she? An actress? A television series regular? The article fails to say.

Actually, I first recognized the name as the actor who played Oswald in the original production of Assassins. I had no idea about his crime, etc. So horribly sad. But I'm glad that he's tried to move on and deal with things, and that they have kept their marriage together, difficult as it all sounds.

Me too! I thought "I know that name from somewhere, something to do with Sondheim." Thanks for placing it for me.

The lede line literally identifies her as "the actress Maddie Corman," and it makes several references to her career throughout.

I think the TV show she was filming when she got the news was either Almost There, which I can find almost no information on, or perhaps Younger.

You posted a link to MAGGIE Corman, not Maddie.
(Though Maggie's credits section comes up blank for me, for some reason.)

I don't think it would have been Younger, because she still might be appearing in future episodes. (She plays one of Sutton Foster's friends, and she pops up once a season or so.) I would hope she wouldn't trash an ongoing employer. Besides, Younger is pretty fun; it's not great art, but I wouldn't call it "semi-terrible."

Besides Younger, I know her from having had a decent-sized role in Next Fall. She's also appeared in a bunch of other theater in NYC over the years.
