| Agree with yer review of the play itself but would suggest that Huppert's lack of command of the English language, while at times, yes, distracting, only added to our sense of her character's dislocation living Stateside. In a play where "dream" logic is the only logic, it is sometimes helpful to have a bit of terra firma when it comes to understanding character motivation...at least it was for me in this case...have never seen her perform in French but this by far is my favorite English performance of hers that I've seen... |
