Trend of "stand by" papered tickets
Posted by: Leon_W 12:27 pm EST 03/07/19

I have noticed that more "stand by" comps seem to be offered these days where you don't have a guarantee of entry, they hand out tickets half an hour before the show. Has anyone tried this? Do you line up in the order you arrived in order to wait for tickets and also presumably the papering service give you your admin fee back if you don't get in?

I am in two minds here, it means you get offered tickets for show you might not otherwise but you are using up part of your night (and maybe travelling a way to get there) maybe just to be told they sold all the seats and go away. Is this treating us like cattle or offering a chance to see a show they wouldn't usually paper?
