| There's an ad in Backstage looking for people to give testimonials about ALADDIN for compensation of $400. Is this normal? Doesn't seem like the testimonials will be forthright and honest. |

| Just as a lark (not that I don't have immense talent and stories) I followed the screens up to the point where you have to pay and supply your credit card info in order to be considered. | |

| hmmm. my first reaction when I saw this was that I was shocked Disney would do something like this/use someone like this/allow someone like this to post something like this. As we now say on the subway: attention everyone, I think we have found ourselves a scam. | |

| This brings to mind one of my pet peeves: commercials where testimonials are given as the caption reads "real people, not actors". Chevrolet is currently the most prominent abuser of this. I always assumed that my actor friends were real people. |

| I change the channel whenever a Chevy commercial comes on. Absolutely awful ads. | |

| I honestly would like Aladdin more if they paid me $400. :) | |

| Is it surprising that people who appear in advertising are paid? And that they are expected to say things that sell the product? | |

| Indeed - that is what commercials are. Perhaps we're just not as used to commercials for musicals that have testimonials in them. But yeah, whether it's a new car, or a floor wax (and a dessert topping), or Aladdin, it's all the same game. | |

| Considering that the gig does not presuppose that the auditionee has even seen Aladdin, that's kinda a giveaway that they are not looking for forthrightness and honesty. | |

| This appears to be for a TV commercial or video so that is why there are looking for paid testimonials. And likely they are looking for fans who look good on camera. | |
