Not being a musician, sometimes I don't hear these things correctly, but I believe it was also in the cut song "Darling!", which — like "The Blob" and "Franklin Shepard, Inc." — was among the last things to be written for the score, with "Franklin Shepard, Inc." having been the last song written for the original production. The motif is also heard in the underscoring in various places.

Btw, a slowed-down version of "The Blob" for Gussie to sing in the greenhouse section of the Sutton Place party scene was something planned at one point for the original production but the idea seems to have been abandoned for the original.
