One always wonders how these types of highly political shows will sell, particularly the one-person variety. Many people simply want to be entertained instead (whether it's a drama or musical or comedy), and others can simply turn on a myriad of cable news stations and see the same political opinions for free. Perhaps NYTW made the decision that since their current political show isn't selling, they'll just pull the plug on this one and get back to more mainstream stuff to attract more ticket buyers. I guess we'll see if this show sees the light of day. I really loved the mainstream RENT (that I saw over and over) and just shocked at how radical a change they have made in their programming since then.
