I've seen most shows and plays this season. Although there may have been fewer truly "wow" shows, I found it to be a good season with a number of fun musicals and some very good plays (although some were somewhat flawed). Just to name a few - Ain't Too Proud is very entertaining with a lot of talent. Hadestown is a beautiful and brilliant show and a remarkable change from the more intimate off-broadway production. Tootsie had the funniest book of any musical I have seen in years. Enjoyed The Prom. Beetlejuice was fun although with flaws. Pretty Woman was ok. Did not like Cher except for the wonderful performance by SJB. As for plays -- throroughtly enjoyed Mockingbird, The Ferryman, Choir Boy, Waverly Gallery, and Boys in the Band. There was a lot to like in All My Sons, Inc., Frankie and Johnnie, Burn This, and Gary (although that is technically next season). Cranston was worth the visit to Network but was otherwise disappointed.
