Someone asked before about reactions to Network (the play) from those who have never seen the movie. I have never seen the movie. The play definitely feels like it's the Howard Beale Show. Tony Goldwyn/William Holden's character is just another background player. None of the supporting players seemed to have roles that mattered except in context about how they affected Cranston's character.
