I'm guessing a lot of people's first reaction was that Ed Harris is considerably older than Jeff Daniels -- when in fact he's only four years older, which is negligible. Given Daniels' age, and also the fact that all of the "children" in MOCKINGBIRD are played by adults, I am really surprised that so many people are reacting with such surprise and negativity that a man of Harris's age has been cast. Seems to me a lot of people just go ahead and speak, or type, their reactions to things without even thinking for a few moments before doing so.
