Actually, Ticketmaster just released side box seats for the performance I was looking at, and I went for them. $189 ($204 with fees), which is more than I usually spend (spoiled by TDF) but way better in terms of price than anything else I saw. Technically partial view, but the online reviews said that the seats were not actually obstructed (except for missing some of the band members), so we will see....
Probably would not have bothered if it had not won best musical, but as a theater fan I need to see the best musical winner, so...I guess this is some anecdotal evidence that the Tony awards do have marketing power! |
