| Uta Hagen, Jonathan Pryce, Matthew Broderick and Mia Farrow — one night only ‘reading’ of VIRGINIA WOOLF at the Majestic in 1999. Uta H. was 80 so I didn’t think she would be able to pull it off but it would be nice to see it for the history. I assumed that Matthew B. and Mia F. would actually be bad. But every moment of it was stunning. It could have been a revival happening at that very moment. All four of them were perfect. It was so unexpected it ‘seared’ (great word!). |
